Lagos Continental Officially Opens Staff Layover Facility and Training Academy

At the Lagos Continental Hotel, exceptional hospitality begins with exceptional people.

The opening reflects a strategic vision centered on one core belief: a well-supported, empowered, and continuously trained workforce is essential to delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Supporting Employee Wellbeing Through Better Rest

The newly launched Staff Layover Facility introduces over 70 dedicated beds, increasing the hotel’s total layover capacity to over 100 beds.

The facility was designed to provide comfortable and modern accommodation for team members on extended shifts or requiring rest between duties and reinforces Lagos Continental’s commitment to staff welfare and workplace well-being.

By creating spaces that support adequate rest and recovery, the hotel aims to enhance employee performance, reduce fatigue, and strengthen operational efficiency.

In an industry where service excellence depends on people, investing in employee well-being remains a critical priority.

Investing in Learning and Leadership Development

Alongside the layover facility, Lagos Continental also officially unveiled its Staff Training Academy, a dedicated center for professional growth, leadership development, and specialized hospitality training.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do. By investing in their well-being and professional growth, we are strengthening our ability to consistently deliver world-class service while building a resilient future for our organization.”

  • Christoph Schleissing, General Manager

The academy has been designed to foster continuous learning across all levels of the workforce, equipping team members with the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities needed to excel in a fast-evolving hospitality landscape.

Through this initiative, Lagos Continental continues to position itself as a preferred employer while contributing to the advancement of hospitality talent development in Nigeria.

Building a Future-Ready Hospitality Workforce

The launch of these facilities represents more than infrastructure development; it reflects a long-term investment in people.

As Nigeria’s hospitality industry continues to evolve, Lagos Continental remains committed to setting new benchmarks and standards in employee-centric practices, workforce development, and service excellence.

By prioritizing employee well-being, continuous training, and leadership growth, the hotel is building a motivated, skilled, and resilient workforce equipped to deliver exceptional value to guests and stakeholders alike.

At Lagos Continental, excellence starts from within, and our future is built through people.
