A Year at Lagos Continental: Moments That Made 2025 Unforgettable
When you think about a hotel year, it’s simple to imagine check-ins, check-outs, events, meetings, and days blending into one another. But at Lagos Continental, last year didn’t pass quietly. It danced, cooked, celebrated, empowered, and gathered people together in ways that still linger long after.
Think of it as a walk down our memory lane, the kind where each turn reminds you why moments matter just as much as milestones.
International Women’s Day, Conversations For Change.
As always, March arrived with purpose.
International Women’s Day at Lagos Continental was felt in the room. Guests and female staff came together for an event rooted in conversation, recognition, and the kind of energy that makes you lean in and listen.
One of the most powerful moments came from Mrs. Titilayo Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy. Her message was clear and stirring: real change begins with action. From empowering women entrepreneurs to ensuring women take their rightful place in climate leadership, the room was reminded of something simple yet profound, and that is, when women thrive, society prospers.
It was an afternoon of shared stories, thoughtful dialogue, and a renewed sense that progress is something we build together.
Sugar 52 Relaunch, Nights Were Made for This.
Guess what we did in April? We turned up the volume!
The Sugar 52 relaunch party took over Lagos Continental with a kind of energy you don’t rush through. Sponsored by Schweppes, the night unfolded exactly as a relaunch should: unapologetically fun.
There were grills for the evening, thumping music kept feet moving, and entertainment ensured there was never a dull moment. At the heart of it all was the iconic Pool Bar, serving refreshing vibes and reminding everyone why Sugar 52 remains a favorite.
It was a statement that Sugar 52 was back, and we made sure no one forgot it.
Chef Amaka, Elevating What’s Ours.
July caused things to slow down in the best possible way, inviting guests and press into the Lagos Continental kitchen for something deeper than a dining experience.
In collaboration with Chef Amaka, the hotel became a stage for Nigerian cuisine to shine, boldly and proudly. Using the Lagos Continental kitchen and restaurant, she took guests on a journey through flavors.
Her words captured the moment perfectly: this wasn’t just about cooking; it was about shifting perspectives. Watching management and press experience each dish with curiosity and excitement was a reminder of the power food has to tell stories.
What began as an invitation quickly revealed itself as the start of something bigger, a partnership built on purpose, possibility, and belief in what Nigerian cuisine can become. And as she said, this was only the beginning.

Housekeeping Week, Celebrating the Heart of the Hotel
By October, it was time to focus the spotlight inward.
International Housekeeping Week gave Lagos Continental the chance to celebrate a team that often works behind the scenes but never without impact. The housekeeping team was recognized for what they truly are, the backbone of comfort, safety, and warmth throughout the hotel.
Every spotless room, every welcoming space, and every detail guests quietly appreciate exists because of their dedication. Throughout the celebration, one message was loud and clear: you are the true MVPs.
It was a moment of gratitude, pride, and well-deserved applause.
Customer Appreciation Dinner, Because Loyalty Deserves a Party
November brought a familiar and much-loved tradition: the annual customer appreciation dinner.
This is the night Lagos Continental pauses to say thank you to the guests who return, recommend, celebrate milestones, and choose us year after year. With gifts, raffles, great food, and even better company, the evening unfolded as a true celebration of loyalty.
And with DJ Bobbi, the party machine himself, on the decks, the night had just the right rhythm. It was a combination of laughter, dancing, surprises, and shared memories.
Because appreciation is more than just a word around here.
Tree Lighting, A Festive Beginning
December arrived wrapped in warmth and wonder.
The annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony transformed the Lagos Continental lobby into a festive haven. In collaboration with the American International School Lagos, guests gathered on December 4th to experience an evening filled with music, joy, and anticipation.
The live performance by the American International School Band set the tone, filling the space with holiday spirit before the magical moment when the Christmas tree lit up, illuminating the lobby and marking the true start of the season.
The lighting event was more than decoration; it was a feeling, a long and lasting feeling.
Looking Back, Moving Forward
From empowering conversations and unforgettable parties to meaningful collaborations and heartfelt celebrations, last year at Lagos Continental was rich with moments that mattered.
Each event told a story of people, purpose, culture, and connection. As we go forward, one thing is certain: the memories made last year are only setting the stage for what’s next.
Here’s to more moments worth remembering.
